Advent is a time of preparation for our Lord’s coming when he returns. Being in the Word of God with fellow believers and also joining with others over a meal to help build community and build each other up is how we love one another.
It is busy, everyone is busy, but if not now, when? When will the devil and the world make God’s Word convenient for you?
God be with you during Advent as we remember the 3 Advents of Christ:
1. that Christ came in Bethlehem
2. Christ comes to us now in his word and sacrament
3. Christ will come again.
“On Jordan’s Bank the Baptist’s Cry” LSB 344
“Then cleansed be every life from sin;
Make straight the way for God within,
And let us all our hearts prepare
For Christ to come and enter there.”
Hebrews 10:24-25 – “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”
