The selection is “Tending Roses” by Lisa Wingate (fiction).
Lovely novel about Kate, a busy, young married woman with an infant child and her relationship with Grandma Rose. Kate’s unenviable task is to convince her frail, forgetful, and stubborn grandmother that she can no longer live alone on her farm in Missouri. After some time, she finds solace and clarity in her grandmother’s handwritten journal of simple stories of earlier, less complicated times and begins to reevaluate her own priorities and those of her family.
