MILITARY PROJECT CARE PACKAGES (2022)

MISSIONS PROJECT — 2ND ANNUAL OPPORTUNITY TO SHOW SUPPORT FOR LCMS CHAPLAINS THROUGH THE MILITARY PROJECT!

The Missions & Evangelism Board is once again spearheading a service opportunity for our ILC congregation, our second time to do so, one that provides care packages for three LCMS Chaplains who are serving God and their country in the Armed Forces. We are again coordinating these packages through Deaconess Carolyn Brinkley from the Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She is the head of a project at the seminary entitled simply “Military Project,” one which supports LCMS chaplains serving in the various military branches. These chaplains bring God’s Word to military personnel, as well as providing them vital pastoral support. In this fashion, we are excited to be able to offer ILC members and friends with our second chance to work on a simple, hands-on endeavor that will tangibly show support for a crucial area of LCMS ministry.

So, please come join us in putting together these helpful care packages! All package items will be on hand on Sunday, November 13th, and help is requested in assembling the packages and in creating notes to accompany them. Various items will be included in the boxes, some for the chaplains’ personal use and some for them to have on hand to give out to military personnel. Most funds required for the project will be provided by the Missions Board. In addition, we also request that members and friends help defray project expenses as the Lord leads. A basket will be available on the day of the event for your donations.

Event Date: Sunday, November 13th
Event Time: After Second Church Service (approx 11:45 a.m.)
Location: Church Fellowship Hall

Please consider staying after second service on November 13th to help out with this fun and helpful service project. Camaraderie and a feeling of accomplishment are guaranteed! All ages are welcome to assist. Please direct questions or comments to any Missions & Evangelism Board member (Dominic Cinquepalmi, Mistie Luchtel, Chris Stubblefield, or Kris Ludwinski).

Thank you!
